Southwest Las Vegas Scene: New Restaurants, STIX Update & Fall Events

It has been one week since my last update and the Southwest has not slowed down for a second. Two brand-new restaurants just opened in Southern Highlands, STIX ASIA named its first three concepts at The UnCommons, Vestra’s first tower is officially lived-in, and Mountain’s Edge just put its full fall calendar on the board. Here is everything worth knowing this week, straight from the neighborhood.

I say this every week and it keeps proving me right: the Southwest is the fastest-moving corner of the valley. I live here, so I am the first to hear when a new sign goes up or a new event lands on a community calendar. Here is the fresh stuff as of September 17.

Two Brand-New Restaurants in Southern Highlands

The biggest news this week is on the plate. Mama Tess’s Artisan Kitchen opened in late August at 11350 Southern Highlands Parkway and is already the highest-rated new restaurant in Southwest Las Vegas. Gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, handcrafted milkshakes, and sweet treats, and it is co-owned by the folks behind the legendary Pioneer Saloon. It is comfort food done right, and it is packed.

Right around the corner, Nudo Italiano brings wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta to Southern Highlands from the Morton Group, the team behind the acclaimed Nove Italiano. If you have been missing that casual, artisan Italian neighborhood spot, this is your new answer. Two serious openings in one week is exactly the kind of momentum this community keeps building.

STIX ASIA Just Named Its First Concepts

The big Asian food hall coming to The UnCommons just got a whole lot more real. STIX ASIA, the 18,000-square-foot, 12-stall food hall from Hawaii, is now slated to open this winter, and the first three concepts have been announced. Each one is making its Las Vegas debut: Ginza Bairin for legendary Tokyo-style pork katsu, Ramen BARIO for rich Hakata tonkotsu ramen, and NANAMUSUBI for handcrafted Japanese rice balls. Seating for around 400, live cooking stations, and some chefs with Michelin-recognized backgrounds. For the Thai and Asian community this is a landmark, and I could not be more excited to see it rise.

Vestra at The UnCommons: The First Tower Is Lived-In

The residential side of The UnCommons just hit a milestone. Vestra’s first midrise tower is complete and residents have moved in. It is the first of three towers that will bring roughly 352 condos to the campus, with a larger plan calling for about 830 apartment units across the whole community. I still earn a commission on Vestra leases and pass on special referral rates, so it costs you nothing to ask about availability.

Mountain’s Edge Just Posted Its Fall Calendar

Mountain’s Edge Master Association put the whole autumn schedule out this week, and it is a good one. Mark your calendar for the Fall Garage Sale on Saturday, October 10 (the whole community comes out for these), and get in early for Starry Knights & Pumpkin Lights 2026, the neighborhood’s big holiday lights event, because registration is open and it fills fast. There is also a Board of Directors meeting on September 23 if you want a say in what is next. Exploration Peak Park stays the center of it all.

Electric Pickle: Happy Hour Is Here While We Wait

Electric Pickle, the 10-court major pickleball club backed by Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, is still the big prize at The Bend, and the moment it opens I will post it first. In the meantime the plaza is far from quiet. Electric Pickle has launched its weekday Supercharged Happy Hour, 3:00 to 6:00 PM, with deals on draft beer, craft cocktails, wine by the glass, and pizza, and Butcher & Thief keeps its own daily 3:00 to 5:30 PM happy hour across the plaza. Metro Sliceteria, Marufuku Ramen, and Lotus of Siam are all cooking every night.

The Growth Engine: Enterprise Is Booming

If you have noticed the cranes moving south, you are not imagining it. The Enterprise area, the ZIP codes 89178, 89183, 89139, and 89141 that wrap around Mountain’s Edge, Southern Highlands, and Rhodes Ranch, is the valley’s fastest-growing new-construction area in 2026. New roads, new homes, new commercial, new life, all of it stacking up around everything I keep telling you about. Buyers who act now are getting in ahead of the curve, and I can show you exactly where the next phase is going.

From One Resident to Another

I live here, I am eating at these new spots, and I am on the community calendars the way you are. Whether you want to rent at Vestra, buy in Southern Highlands, Mountain’s Edge, or the booming Enterprise corridor, or just want a personal tour of the food scene, my door is open. English, Thai, or German.
